December 19 Xbox 360 to Be Able to IM Mobile PhonesJason Langridge, Enterprise Mobility Solution Specialist at Microsoft UK division, has revealed that the software giant is working on a new feature that will allow Xbox 360 users to send instant messages using the MSN Messenger infrastructure, thereby reaching any device running the program, including cell phones. "So on my device I sign in with my MSN account and it sets up Hotmail," explained Mr. Langridge to the BBC. "There is no service fee and you can do MSN messaging chats." The alerts would be sent by Xbox 360 users over the Internet via Xbox Live and be received by a cell phone over the air as an instant message. "It just pops up saying 'Dinky Dave wants to play Project Gotham Racing' with you," said Langridge. "You can see the integration that we are building with the xbox 360, with phones and with PCs," he said. When will it be ready? Langridge could not say when the new Xbox 360 feature will go live, but added: "It is six months or so. It is very, very near." Hey when the origenxbox360.com thing was going on did microsoft say that they had no plans for MSN intergration? Heh oh well whatever floats their boat! December 18 What I think about the Xbox 360 and my gamesI have been a little slow on updates so I finally got around to it.
Lets just say I've been enjoying my 360, just to knock some questions out I'd like to say the my XBOX 360 has had no defects. It hasn't burned my perfect dark zero because Ive played it more the 10 hours (which I have) and it has not visibly scratched it. The main reason why idiots complain about circular scratches on their CDs is because of human error.
The things that I'm enjoying is the Marketplace, the Xbox Live Arcade, Neon, and well pretty much every thing else! So far on the Marketplace I've downloaded around 10 trailers which would include PGR3, COD2, Lost planet (recently anounced game title). But the other trailers are movie trailers, they have the X-men 3 teaser and also the Mission Impossible: lll trailer.
Another thing that stood out was Xbox live arcade. You can play the game before you decided to purchase it. Ive downloaded most of the game trials but have only purchased 2 of them. The games that I've bought were Geometry wars and Smash TV. (Here is some info about some of the arcade games) The great thing is that its somthing that the whole family can enjoy (yea sounds odd). This I'm dead serious about there has been times were my parents and I have sat down and played geomety wars. Each game varies in price, most games are 400pts (around 5$) and 800pts (around 10$) but there is one that is 1200pts (around 15$). Most of the games are worth their value (exept for the pricey pool game).
Most know that the Windows Media Player visualizers are not graphically pretty nor is the Xbox (1) visualizer. Those media player visualizers are nothing compared to neon, ive sat down and listen to music and played with the visualizer for over a couple of hours. Neon lets you control certain elements of the visualizer, you can use up to 4 controllers at the same time to move around (like one could control movement the other can control rotation).
Some of the other cool features that Im going to mention are being able to play music off of my computer (doesn't require Windows media center all you need is Windows media connect). You can also add you own personal backgrounds and customize your blades and your guide button. (I created a background for my 360 if you want to check it out). Personal chat is also nifty, I could be playing Perfect dark zero and a friend of mine could be playing Call of duty 2. All I would do is go under my friends list click on his name and send him a invite to Private chat.
This system itself looks awsome but Im sure I didn't need to tell you that.
Well if you made it through thanks for reading, If you got a question leave a comment and I will try and answer it and if you have a Xbox 360 already send a friend request to suicide14! November 11 Official Backwards Compatibility ListXbox.com released the official BC list today, here are the games!
Oh yea check out this xbox 360 commercial (seems off topic but will eventually come together) October 24 I have played it!And I like it!!!
When I went to my local best buy I have discovered that there was a Xbox 360 kiosk set up! I played it for about 15 minutes and I didn't want to leave but my playing time was cut short by my mother. ANYWAYS
The controller was great! (Yes im a duke fan aka. The old big controller fan) My hands comformed to it perfectly and I only misplaced the start button once, the new shoulder buttons are wicked awsome.
The console looked great also but I didn't have time to just look and observe it because I felt rushed so I only played a couple of the demos. The guy before me was playing kameo I played it for a little bit (not a big platformer fan) and I never got the controls down but It look good and seemed worth while if you like platformers. After that I checked out Call of Duty 2, the graphics looked like the computers on high (Great graphics) and the controls felt just the same as the PC version, it wasn't slow like CoD: finest hour, the storyline will also be the exactly the same as CoD2 (pc version) so it wont suck!
And then! I was cut off and was forced to go home....
If you have any quick (semi easy questions) about what I observed with the system ASK THEM! October 13 Bizarre and Microsoft LIED!It's true, and we'll be the first to hold our hands up and admit "we were wrong".
There are a few rumours circulating the development community at the moment regarding the polygon count of the cars in PGR3. If you're not aware, the term "poly count" is a rough measure of detail which artists can use to describe (in loose terms) how detailed their 3d model is. The number refers to the amount of individual triangles which make up a car. In the past we've claimed that each car in PGR3 is made of about 80,000 polygons on average. To put this in perspective, we previously used about 10,000 per car in PGR2... that's an eight fold increase from our last game. Appropriately enough, some were sceptical about this number, especially given the enhanced shading and lighting we're incorporating into the game in addition to the increased number of polygons. So, I took it upon myself to head over to the car artists, and found out for myself exactly how many polys we were pushing per car. The results were surprising... therefore I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to all gamers who were expecting 80,000 triangles in PGR3. I can conclusively reveal that in fact we do NOT have 80,000 polygons on average per car. ... It's actually closer to 96,000... Some cars have around 85,000 polygons, but many go as high as 105,000. The McLaren F1 LM (my favourite PGR3 car!) clocked in at over 100,000. Obviously these counts include the car interiors as well as the exteriors, but they don't include the extra geometry to display car damage, which can add between 10,000 and 20,000 more triangles per car. Of course, polygons aren't the only things which matter in the next generation. We're also using some advanced pixel shaders and other effects to achieve the most realistic look we can muster at this time. I'm putting together a short animation to give you more details about these shaders in the future... so watch this space. Sorry for any confusion!

Who knows, just hope it is something HUGE.
Here is the page were they announced it.
August 02 Wal-mart leak Price and Date? The Inquirer and TotalVideogames claim that Wal-Mart employees apparently have leaked the launch date and price of the Xbox 360. According to these reports, the Xbox 360 will retail for $299 and the launch will be Friday, November 4th.
The rumored price sounds likely to be true since it is the same price of the original Xbox when it launched back on November 15th of 2001. However, the Nov. 4th date sounds a bit odd being that it takes place on a Friday; not typically strong “launch day” for retailers. Being that the first Xbox launched on the third Thursday of November and just before the Thanksgiving holiday, a date of November 10th or November 17th seems more likely for the Xbox 360 launch, but again, this is purely speculation.
